All parishes of the Catholic Church in Malawi are launching the Jubilee year themed ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. At St Kizito Parish Chigoneka, mass started with the opening of the doors. This follows the opening of the Holy Door of Saint Peter’s Basilica by Pope Francis on Christmas Eve and the opening of doors of Cathedrals by bishops on 29th December 2024.
Today is also the Feast of the Epiphany, commemorating the visit of the three wise men, or Magi, who travelled to honour the newborn Jesus. Children at our parish lead the liturgy and choir during mass.
