A Day of Joy and Gratitude!
The dedication and opening of the new Maria Mthandizi Parish Priests’ house was celebrated with a Holy Mass led by His Grace George Tambala, Archbishop of Lilongwe.
The Archbishop, among other priests, was accompanied by the Parish Priest Fr. Dennis Agi and a deeply respected figure from our history, Fr. Francis Taylor, who blessed the new residence.

From Outstation to Parish Home
This dedication marks a significant milestone for Maria Mthandizi, which was elevated to a Parish just two years ago after starting as a vibrant outstation of St. Kizito, Chigoneka Parish.

His Grace Archbishop Tambala warmly joined Fr. Agi in expressing heartfelt thanks to Fr. Francis Taylor, now serving at Mtengowanthenga and soon moving to new duties in Zambia. They lauded Fr. Taylor for the excellent foundational work he laid at Maria Mthandizi, which directly led to its eventual Parish status.
Honouring a Legacy
The Archbishop also took a moment to commend St. Kizito, Chigoneka Parish, for their beautiful gesture of naming their Parish Hall the “Fr. Francis Taylor Hall”—a fitting tribute to his dedicated service to Chigoneka and its outstations, including Maria Mthandizi.

Bonds of Support
The Leadership of Maria Mthandizi Parish Council expressed deep gratitude to their mother Parish, St. Kizito, Chigoneka, for the continued technical and material support. This enduring bond was beautifully evidenced by the many generous gifts presented for the new Priests’ house, which included a complete kitchen unit!

It was a day that truly showcased the growth, faith, and enduring community spirit within the Archdiocese. May God bless Maria Mthandizi Parish and all who serve there!
