During a special Mass to mark the opening of a new school year for Tilitonse, the parish priest, Fr. Martin, delivered a homily based on today’s Gospel – the parable of the sower. He encouraged the children to grow strong roots in their faith and not be like the seeds that fell on rocky ground or among thorns.

A Call to Partnership

Fr. Martin also took the opportunity to thank the Tilitonse teachers for their selfless service. Speaking on behalf of the teachers, Mrs Fyness Ntapara asked parents to play their part in teaching their children about the Catholic faith: “The home should be a nursery to teach the children how to pray. We, the teachers, are partners in teaching the faith.”

She concluded by inviting parents to enrol their children aged 6 and 7 in Class 1.
