The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated every year on August 15. It honours the Christian belief that the Mother of God was taken body and soul into heaven at the end of her life on earth. Legionaires from different parishes throughout the country celebrated this feast, commencing with a retreat at deanery level. Maula Deanery met at Maria Mthandizi wa a Khristu from 14th to 16th August. Members from St. Kizito took part in the retreat.

The retreat was opened with Mass celebrated by the Patron of Maula Deanery, Fr. Martin Mulholland. The climax of the feast was on Sunday, 16th August, consisting of Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Richard Mthana, during which new members were inducted into the Legion.

Two new members from St Kizito Parish joined the Legion – Mrs Fatima Mthini (right above) and Mrs Ellena Chimowa. Ms Lindiwe Chide (top left) also joined the Legion.
