The celebration took place at Fr. Francis Taylor’s Hall within the parish, where choir members expressed their joy and relief at the album’s release.
In her remarks, the Choir’s Chairperson, Mrs Chimwemwe Mabulekisi, described the launch as a “great achievement” following a challenging, two-year production journey.

“We went into the studio the first time in December 2023, and I’m very happy and grateful to the Almighty God that exactly two years down the line, December 2025, we are launching this CD album,” Mrs Mabulekisi stated

She acknowledged that completing the album was a demanding task and extended gratitude to everyone involved in its creation.
The 11-track CD album is already inspiring future projects, with Mrs Mabulekisi confirming plans to produce a corresponding DVD.

“We did a DVD for a promotion for the album, for our title album, and we have received overwhelming support and encouragement… it has given us that courage that maybe we can do it, but it will be at a slow pace… it will be a medium-term project.”

The launch drew support from other local church choirs from St. John’s Msamba Parish, St. Mary’s Kamuzu Barracks, among others.

In his remarks, Luka Sylvester, Vice-Chairperson of the St. Louis Choir from Msamba Parish, the event’s guest choir, praised the Maria Consolata women, noting that their dedication had provided valuable lessons to their choir.

Mr Sylvester also took the opportunity to issue a call for unity among church choirs, urging them to always honour invitations to support album launches, as their presence is highly valued and relied upon by the hosting groups.
