Today, St. Kizito Chigoneka Parish celebrated the conclusion of the Jubilee Year of Hope. The closing ceremony coincided with the Feast of the Epiphany, where the day’s liturgy was beautifully led by the Tilitonse Children. The youth took charge of the singing, liturgical readings, and ushering, while also presenting their own gifts during the offertory.

A Year of Abundant Blessings
In his homily, Parish Priest Fr. Martin reflected on the spiritual fruits of the past year. While the Universal Church will officially close the Jubilee in Rome on 6th January, dioceses and parishes worldwide joined in solidarity this Sunday to conclude their local observances.
Fr. Martin noted that for St. Kizito Chigoneka, this Jubilee was particularly historic. It followed the parish’s own Golden Jubilee, celebrated in June, a landmark 50th-anniversary event that was highlighted by the joyful ordination of two new priests.

The Message of the Epiphany
Drawing from the Gospel of the Magi, Fr. Martin emphasised the symbolic meaning of Epiphany—the revelation of Jesus to all nations. He highlighted the journey of the Wise Men, who, after encountering the Christ child, were warned in a dream to return to their country by a different route to avoid King Herod.
Fr. Martin concluded by praying that just as the Magi departed by a different way, the parishioners of St. Kizito would also return to their homes by a ‘new way,’ —transformed by hope and carrying hearts that have been truly changed.
