Members of the St. Kizito Catholic Women Association (CWA) gathered on Saturday 28th March 2026, at the Pallottine Bypass House in Lilongwe for a day of spiritual renewal and reflection.
The retreat, led by Father John Mangwere, focused on empowering women to lead their homes with faith and love.

During the sessions, Father Mangwere outlined several key qualities that define a “Missionary of Hope” within the household:
* A Foundation of Faith: Taking inspiration from Mother Mary, who courageously said “Yes” to God’s plan, women are encouraged to lead with deep-rooted belief.
* Spiritual Strength: A woman of faith remains grounded in prayer and the Word of God, allowing her to share love and kindness with those around her.
* Unwavering Trust: Father Mangwere emphasised that a woman should trust in God during difficult times, including illness, loss, or financial struggles.
* Integrity and Character: The retreat highlighted the importance of being calm, genuine, and ready to learn from leaders while standing firmly for the truth.
* A Source of Joy: A mother should make her home a “sacred place”—a welcoming environment where family members can find forgiveness, hope, and an encounter with God.

One attendee shared in an interview that the experience taught her to see the goodness in others and to act as a stronger support system for her community.
Mrs. Annualita Matope, Chairperson for the St. Kizito CWA, expressed her gratitude to all the women who attended.
“I will never be the same again after this retreat,” she said, praising the spiritual growth shared by the group.
Father Mangwere concluded the event by thanking the association for choosing the Pallottine Bypass Community House as their place of recollection.
