St. Kizito Parish today celebrated the Catholic Women’s Association (CWA) members as part of the Jubilee Year of Hope. In his blessings to CWA members during the first Mass of the day, Fr. Martin Mulholland urged the women to continue their essential work of nurturing their families with hope, echoing the jubilee theme, “Pilgrims of Hope.” He prayed for God’s grace upon the women for the work they do, acknowledging their role in inspiring others and acting as mothers to the parish, the archdiocese, and the entire country. Fr. Martin also prayed for continued divine blessings for the jubilee year, so the women may remain an inspiration and continue their shared journey of hope.

During the second Mass of the day, the parish celebrated the Jubilee of Catholic Lawyers, Magistrates, and Judges. In his blessings, Fr. Martin prayed that the attorneys would use their expertise to assist others in attaining justice and that they themselves would be agents of bringing justice to the world.

The parish has several attorneys working in the Ministry of Justice, the Ombudsman’s office, human rights, and private practice. The main jubilee celebrations took place in Zomba Diocese on Saturday, 6 September.

The year 2025 was declared a Jubilee Year of Hope by Pope Francis. The Malawi Conference of Catholic Bishops designated September 2–7 as the Jubilee of the Catholic Women Association and Saturday, September 6, as the Jubilee of the Catholic Lawyers, Magistrates, and Judges.
