The Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which falls on 31st May, holds a major significance for the Legion of Mary. This feast day perfectly mirrors the core mission of legionaries: emulating Mary’s humble, joyful service and bringing Christ’s grace to others in the spirit of charity, humility, and joyful service.
In our Archdiocese of Lilongwe, the celebration came early on Saturday, 23rd May, 2026 and it was marked with a pilgrimage to Kachebere in Mchinji and Holy Mass, which was celebrated by Monsignor Patrick Thawale. Legion of Mary members from St Kizito Parish joined their counterparts for the pilgrimage.
In his homily, Mons Thawale reminded Legionaries to be exemplary like Mother Mary by being humble, choosing to be a Legionary for better or for worse, and by using our different gifts and bearing long-lasting fruits.
