St Kizito mourns death of Fr Martin Kavisu

St Kizito Parish announces the sudden death in a road accident of Rev. Fr. Martin Kavisu of St. Patrick’s Missionaries. He died with Mr Francis Dzanjalimodzi, a parishioner of St Kizito with whom he was travelling. Their vehicle hit a stationary truck on the night of Thursday 14th December near Kamphata along the Dedza – Lilongwe road.

Fr. Martin was the Parish Priest of St. Kizito-Chigoneka in Area 47, Lilongwe. Additionally, he held the roles of Vocations Director for the St. Patrick’s Missionary Society in Malawi and Zambia and the congregation’s bursar in Malawi. In July this year, he was appointed the master of ceremonies for Maula Deanery.

Fr Martin

Fr Martin came to Malawi in 2016 and served as Parochial Vicar at St Augustine, Mtengowamthenga Parish in Dowa until 2018. From 2018 to 2022 he was Parochial Vicar at St Kizito Parish. Fr Martin recently oversaw the establishment of Maria Mthandizi wa Akhristu – Mtandire Parish, seven churches that were all outstations of St Kizito Parish.

He hails from St. Paul’s Kasyala Parish, Catholic Diocese of Kitui and he was ordained on 28th May 2016 at St. John Paul II Institute.

All will sorely miss Fr Martin.
